Hi Lee.
No, a native copy is not possible. The reason is that the ICO image format does not work in a HTML document, it is just allowed in the favion. This circumstance is why I have developed the FaviRoll Plugin.

Ok, got it working, but now the icons are ruined. Even if you choose not to use transparency they look awful. Is there a way to just copy over the original icon?

I don’t understand how this is supposed to work? How do you get this to work with a template file, i.e using PHP .. As I don’t use the widgets, I add everything manually using php..

also ich habe mittlerweile 3.01 im Einsatz. In dem Bereich wo das FaviRoll arbeitet habt sich da nichts getan.
Bei mir (kein Multisite) läuft alles noch wie vorher.
Der Multisite Test in 3.x steht aber noch aus.

Grundsätzlich ein sehr gutes Plugin dass die Blogroll angenehm visualisiert. Und Favicons hat ja heute eigentlich jeder. Aber nun meine Frage: läuft das ohne Probleme auch in WordPress 3.01? Ich habe mir mal mein Blog wegen eines fehlerhaften Plugins zerschossen, daher bin ich etwas vorsichter.

In the source, the style sheet is one of the things being access from http:// instead of https:// – it’s not the only one, but one of them. another minor issue i found is with someone who has a messed up faviocon, too big. if you have ideas on working around, would like to know. you can see that here on the right sidebar: http://zombiesuncensored.com the link Ron-Paul US towards the bottom of the list. Haven’t seen cosimo yet but will check it out. And thank you!

Yes, this may no problem, but can you give me more details for your problem?
I’m interesting about your “SSL mixed mode warning”.
If I understand this better, it’s easier for me.

Working great on MU, by the way. Request ability to turn off default stylesheet. I’m doing some SSL pages and would like to add the style to my main stylesheet to avoid mixed content warnings without hacking plugin in the future.

P.S. This is one of my favorite little plugins.
